PDO threads are FDA approved biocompatible sutures that are inserted beneath the skin.
PDO Threads have a dual role in that they both support and lift skin tissue whilst stimulating the production of collagen. PDO threads are colourless, microfilament sutures made from polydioxanone (PDO), a material that has been used for over 40 years in various clinical applications.

Of the three types of non-surgical thread lists on the market PDO threads have been around the longest. Although PDO utilising techniques have been around since the early 80’s the use of PDO in threads was developed in 2010.

PDO threads are biodegradable. The material is broken down and excreted through the kidneys.
Patients are typically between the ages of 30 and 60, want to resolve mild sagging of the jowls, cheeks or neck, and have good skin quality.
Patients who have had certain prior facial procedures including surgical face-lifts and cheek implants. Patients who have very thin or very heavy skin.
The results of the listing action are immediate. The results of the increased collagen production will be apparent after around 6-12 weeks.
The brow, the cheeks, marionette lines, the jawline, the nasolabial folds, the arms & legs, and the abdomen can be treated with PDO threads.
The thread lift will take 15-30 minutes to perform.
